Lately I’ve been flying the Zibo 737 a lot. I use it on my system that is running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS at the moment, unfortunately the performance is kind of lacking. I’m in the process of FPS hunting.

AMD drivers and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

I recently switched from an Nvidia card (GTX780Ti 3GB) to an AMD card (RX580 8GB). The improvement I expected wasn’t really happening. X-Plane still uses OpenGL and AMD’s OpenGL support kind of sucks. I really hope Vulkan will improve this. I also don’t want to pay double the price for an Nvidia card with 8 GB, so I’ll ride it out until X-Plane supports Vulkan.

Plugin: Xchecklist

Today I installed Xchecklist, a checklist plugin (obviously 😛). This plugin will present checklists based on a clist.txt file that can be specific to an aircraft. The files are written in plain text and can be modified with any decent editor. Since I almost exclusively fly SSG’s B748, I searched for a clist.txt specific to this plane.
